Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #543

Hello everyone!! I cannot believe it is May!!

I am just popping in today with a new card I created for Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #543.

This weeks challenge is to create a Mother's Day card or a feminine card. I created a feminine theme card as I don't really make Mother's Day cards since my mother passed away years ago.

We have a sponsor for this challenge! It is Crafty Meraki!!! She has a FABULOUS shop and I hope you hop on over to her store!!

I used a lattice die for my background and added some stamps from the WPlus9 Shop that were colored in with Copic markers.

I am sending this out to a specific friend that I have not seen in ages and that I miss a lot.

Please hop on over to Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #543 to play with us this week. I always love seeing the creativity of everyone!!!

Week Two of Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #535

 Happy Monday everyone!!

Today starts week two of the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #535-to use coffee or tea time theme on a card. Last week I made a coffee themed card so I decided that this week I would dig out some of my tea themed stamps to create my card.

The badge below is the challenge badge for Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #535, though I only used the theme and not the badge itself as inspiration.

I used the Hello and Thanks Stamp and Die set from WPlus9 to create this card. I had so much fun coloring and layering on this card.

The dies rectangle dies are from Paper Trey Ink.

That is all from me today. I hope that this card inspires you to hop on over and play with us at the Cupcake Inspiration Blog. I cannot wait to see what you create!!

I want to thank you for stopping by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #523 Reminder!!!

Hello fellow cardmakers!! I am popping in to remind everyone that you still have time to play at the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog with challenge #523. This week it is a color challenge.

Di's Digi Stamps is the sponsor this week for the challenge. One lucky winner wins a prize of 2 Digital Stamps of the winners choice!!!

I do not own any of Di's stamps so I used stamps that were on my desk from another project.

The challenge was to use the colors BLUE, LIME and YELLOW on a card. For my card, I primarily chose to concentrate on the blue color with just touches of yellow and green.

I combined Wplus9's Spring Blessings stamps and dies with The Little Things stamps and dies to create the flowers on this card. The bird is from Wplus9's Winter Greenery set.

I used *Altenew inks *Lapus Lazuli, *Pocket Full of Sunshine and *Warm Gray to stamp the images.

I placed the stamped images over a white die cut and *Garden Melody pattern paper from Carta Bella. I happen to adore this blue stripe and will be sad when the paer is all used up!!

I used foam tape to pop up a sentiment from The Ton and the card was complete. I LOVE how this camp out and unfortunately it will be used this week.

I hope you like my card and will join us for this weeks Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #523. I cannot wait to see what you create!!! Hop on over to the blog post to get some other ideas from the Design Team.

I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by. I hope you have a FABULOUS day!!!

Sending Big Hugs and a new DT Gig at the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge Blog

Happy Monday everyone!! Today I finally get to share that I have a new DT gig at Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog!!! I am an official "Sweetie." I am beyond EXCITED!!!

The challenge will be a two week challenge and my first card ever for the Design Team is below.

My photo inspiration is from Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #522 badge. Aren't those little chicks cute?

(Source)

I know, I know-you are probably thinking how did I get from those little chicks to my card? Well, I did. When I think of birds, I think of spring. When I think of spring, I think of flowers. So I decided to get out my WPLUS9 stamp sets out and create a little scene. If you notice, the little bird on my card is yellow like the ones in that nest!

I used WPlus9's The Little Things stamps and dies, Spring Blessings stamps and dies, and the bird is from the Winter Greenery stamp set.

I made sure to add some brown in my little scene, another ode to the inspiration photo. I also used a shaded oval in the background with the color blue, like a robin's egg. See how I did that?

The sentiment on my card is from The Ton. The little orange flowers on the "ground" were in my "extra" pile of stamped images. I am not sure from where. I am so excited at the way this card came out.

I hope you come on over to the blog and play along with me and the other Sweeties this week. I cannot wait to see what you create!!!

Birthday Wishes

 Happy Friday everyone!!

I am popping in today with a card I created for some challenges. I have had some time now that I am off and have been having a TON of fun making cards for challenges!!

I made this cards using this weeks Global Design Projects Challenge #296. I am also entering these cards into the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge WWC318: Kath's All About Occasions and Seize the Birthday #216-no topping.

I had a ton of fun using the CAS-Fridays Flowery Background stamp to start off my cards. I then cut the panel into two different rectangles so I could make two cards. I have been trying to do more of this!!!

On my first panel, I used a PTI die, black cardstock and heat embossed my sentiment that I stamped using WPlus9 the That is All stamp set. This was inspired by the photo from the Global Design Project.

I added some rainbow striped cardstock from Honeybee Stamps Over the Rainbow paper pad and a vellum butterfly that I die cut using Altenew Mix and Match Mariposa Butterfly die set. I used Distress Ink in Squeezed Lemonade and Carved Pumpkin to shade the vellum butterfly.

For my second card, I used most of the same products as the first but added a die cut flower that was cut using the My Favorite Things Stitched Flower Die-namics, a stem from the MFT Stitched Blooms Die-namics and some red twine.

I added some yellow enamel dots as accents. I LOVE how these cards came out and they were so easy to make!! I also was able to use some supplies that I had forever but have not used yet. I have been a HUGE collector and I am trying not to buy this summer. HOWEVER, last week was a bad week and I ordered a TON of things I do not need!!!

Well, that is all from me today. I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a GREAT night!

Thank You Card

Happy Sunday!! I hope you all are having a fabulous day. It has been cloudy and gray all weekend so it pretty much has been a wash. I have been getting a bunch of chores done like wash and cleaning. Fun times!!

I did get some time in my craft room this weekend but the inspiration did not come all that easy. However, I was able to complete one card for some challenges.

I used WPlus9 stamps to create my card with the Inspired By Challenge IB176 as my inspiration. I chose to use the sketch for my design and was inspired by the colors in the photo.

I used Worn Lipstick Distress Ink for the circle. I originally masked it off on my card front but I got ink all over my hands and had to cut out the circle instead.

I added the birdhouse and flower vase from WPlus9's The Little Things stamp set and paired it with the lilacs from Spring Blessings. The yellow cardinal (Did you know that there was such thing?) is from the Winter Greenery stamps set.

I stamped the sentiment in gray but it got kind of thready. I used a sand eraser to get most of it off by I could not get it all.

I really love how this card came out!!! I am also going to enter this into this weeks Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.

That is all form me tonight. I did create some graduation cards but need to take photos of them and have not done so yet. I have so much to do but so little time to do it!!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS night!

Even More Challenges!

Happy Monday everyone! I hope that you are all staying healthy at that those of you that celebrate Easter had a nice holiday yesterday. Warning-there are a lot of photos in this post!!

It is rainy here in CT with winds gusts of more than 60 miles per hour. Just praying that our power does not go out!! I usually try to go for a walk but since the weather was not cooperating, today I actually went down and did the elliptical machine. We have had this since my 41st birthday? Not sure but I hardly ever use it. It is harder to pedal than the ones at the gym so I would rather use those! I also did some weights. Hopefully I will be pleasantly sore tomorrow.

Today I am getting some cards for some challenges that I am getting in under the gun. I have "vacation" from school this week so I have time to blog them at the last minute.

The first card I created for Freshly Made Sketches #430.

I used WPlus9 "Fresh Cut Florals", Simon Says Stamp "Thanks and Encouragement Word Mix," and my new Altenew "Fine Frames Diamonds" die set.

The florals were from a pile on my desk that has been there forever. It has been fun challenging myself to do this. I always stamp "extras" when I am doing a project and have SO MANY to choose from!!

I have also been trying to stamp sentiments to have on hand and I had fun looking through them to pull for this card.

The challenges I am entering this card into are:
Happy Little Stampers: Anything Goes With Dies (I was inspired by the pink flowers)
NBUS Challenge (I used my Altenew Frames for the first time)

For  my second card, I started out being inspired by two challenges. The first was the Color Throwdown Challenge #588. I usually have a difficult time doing color challenges but I paired it with this weeks CASE this Sketch Challenge #367 for a simple card design.

I started off my card by using Distress Ink to paint my four lines on a piece of watercolor paper.

I rarely do this kind of technique because I am LAZY and hate to wait for things to dry!! Yes, I could use a heat gun but don't like the way the paper warps when I do that. When the stripes were dry, I die cut the image with an MFT Blueprints 13 die.

The branch is from Paper Smooches and I die cut that from watercolor paper, using Twisted Citron Distress Ink to give it some color.

The sentiment from Altenew's free "Best Sentiments" set that has been sitting in my NBUS pile of things to use. I think I will be inking this stamp up a few times to have in my stash.

I made this card to go in a set for my Aunt's birthday this week.

This card was SO FUN to make!! I stenciled the background and then splattered with a couple colors of Distress Mist.

The large flower and large leaves were stamped using some Altenew dye ink combinations. The smaller flowers I colored with Copic markers. All are from Aletenew's "Beautiful Day" stamp set. This is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE stamp sets.

The frame is from Pink Fresh Studio. I cut it in half and used it on another card that I will post later this week.

I know this card would not be everyone's cup of tea with the background but I LOVED how it came out!!!

On another note, since we couldn't spend Easter with our family we did a Zoom call instead.

My father had a few difficulties at first but it was fun to do. I have been doing virtual happy hour with some of my girlfriends on Saturdays and this has kept me SANE!! Also figured I would post a photo of my pup. He is declining even with all his meds he is on.

He has been refraining from snuggling as of late. I think it is because it is hard to get comfortable on the couch.

That is all from me today. I hope I didn't bore you all!! I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Stay safe and healthy. I think of all of you wonderful cardmakers that I call my friends and love you to pieces!!!
