Scrapjazz Kit Club Cards

Happy Tuesday!! Today I am sharing some cards I created using a kit made by my friend Debbie. She sent us a lot of fun goodies!!

I created seven cards and have a TON more to probably make ten more cards. I tried to use mainly her kit but did get out some of my dies to do some fun die cutting with the papers too.

The first two cards are I created for Valentine's Day. The the top one I made for Char and the bottom one for Chris. Everything was in the kit but I used a die to cut out the patterned paper on Chris' card.

I colored in the flowers on this card and used some fiber for "fringe" underneath the sentiment strip. I added some rhinestones over the flowers, which were also in the kit.

I used a "Stitched Scallop" border from Lawn Fawn to die cut the Kraft card stock and an MFT "Die-namics Pierced Circle Stax" for the circles underneath the flowers. Debbie sent LOTS of pretty flowers and I had so much fun layering them on my cards!!

This card is one of my favorites. Red polka dots and butterflies!!

I had a fun time cutting and layering with scraps from the kit on this card!!

I die cut the embossed kraft paper from the kit into circles and layered them over pink. (which was also in the kit!!) I punched out butterflies and used Scrapbook Adhesive Foam to pop the butterflies up. Funny story about this card. I was editing my photos on this card and noticed that the butterfly on the bottom left only had one rhinestone when I had added two. Later that night when I was at dinner with a friend, I looked down and my jeans and there was the missing pink rhinestone!!

That is all from me today. I am going to enter this into Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge  "Anything Goes."

Thank you for stopping by!!

Freshly Made Sketches #276 and a PaperTrey Ink Anniversary Card Posted Too Late

Hello everyone!! It is Sunday night and I am posting a couple of cards I created.

The sound of crickets were here on my blog last week as I was not feeling the creativity bug. Then on Thursday night I came down with hives and was a little sick to my stomach. Think I had an allergic reaction to something I ate-but still trying to figure it out!! Yesterday Charlotte and I went shopping with my niece who had come down on Friday. She took Char to a Panic at the Disco concert. Both had a BLAST.

I was able to play a little last night, though. My first card I created using Freshly Made Sketches #276 my inspiration.

My card is not as clean as the sketch but it has the elements.

I combined Simons Stays Stamp! images from "Time for Wine" with a sentiment from Paper Smooches "Free Spirit" stamp set. Las time I used this set, I made my wine purple, but today I played with it being a "white" wine. The color is not perfect but close to what I wanted!!

The background was created by watercoloring Ranger "Twisted Citron" and "Mowed Lawn" Distress ink onto watercolor paper and then pairing it with a little Kraft card stock.

Love how it all came together and know I could send this to several of my friends.

My next card I actually created last week for the PTI 10th Anniversary Challenge but never got around to photographing it. It was also EXTREMELY simple. I rarely enter PTI Challenges as I can never make my cards look as good as so many other contributors!!

I was inspired by the "2015 Birthday Tags" stamp set and my favorite DT member, Dawn McVey. While I do not have that set, I do have the "2012 Birthday Tags" (The Vault) set and used that instead.

I stamped the green and white patterned paper using "Ombre Builders" and used "Edgers #3" die to die cut the scalloped edge. I thought the colors were perfect for a more masculine card.

Of course I am a day late and a dollar short for entering this but that is okay. Any card made is a good thing!!

I am also entering this into Simon Says Stamp! Wednesday Challenge "Anything Goes."

I thank you for stopping by today. Have a great night!!

You ROCK Card for CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

Hello everyone!! Happy Wednesday!! Today it is my turn over at the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog.

I created a card using three different stamp sets and masking to create the sentiment block I wanted. I made this encouragement card for a friend that is going through a difficult time right now.

I started by stamping the "rock" sentiment with CAS-ual Fridays "Flower Power" using gold ink and heat embossing with gold embossing powder. I then masked part of the sentiment from the "Calling all Sistahs" stamp set to stamp and heat emboss the "you."

Next I mounted the white card stock onto an A2 card front that I had adhered some gold card stock so that it would match the gold in the sentiment. I usually mount my card fronts while they are flat because it is easier to adhere to the card base without bulky embellishments.

I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment strip using the "Sassy Smiles" stamp set and used foam adhesive to adhere it to the card. To finish, I added some gold sequins and little embellishments that I die cut from scraps of the gold card stock with CAS-ual Fridays "Fun-Fetti Fri-Dies." I added a touch of gold glitter glue to the die cuts to mimic the flowers from the sentiment.

Masking sentiments to create a card is my "new" thing. You are only limited by your imagination on what you can come up with. CAS-ual Fridays Stamps has some AWESOME sets that can be combined and I think it is so fun to see what I can mix and "mask," as the case may be. (Sorry for the pun but I could not help it!!) I would love to see what you can come up with!!

Happy Valentine's Day with some Challenge Entries

Happy Valentine's Day!! I hope you are all having a lovely day!! It is cold still here and I am waiting for spring!!

Today I am here with a card I created for two challenges.

Cupcake Inspirations #394 and a sketch #105 from the Fab Friday blog were the inspiration for my card.

I used the Mama Elephant "Incoming Mail" stamp and die set for the panda and all the little letters.

I paired it with sentiments from Lawn Fawn's "Love Letters" set (Valentine's Day) and My Favorite Things "Happy Hedgehogs" set.

I used glossy accents on all the tiny hearts on the envelopes to give them a bit of gloss since they were some of the only color on this card.

I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Happy Valentine's Day!

Supplies:
Stamps-Lawn Fawn “Love Letters,” Mama Elephant “Incoming Mail,” MFT “Happy Hedgehogs”

Dies-MFT “In and Out Rectangle” and “Stitched Circle Frame,” Mama Elephant “Incoming Mail”

PaperTrey Ink 10th Anniversary Cards 2007 and 2008

Hey everyone!! Just popping in to post the two cards I created for PaperTrey Ink's 10th Anniversary.

My first card was inspired by Nichole Heady's 2007 card.

I did not have the set she had so I had to improvise. I used "Background Basics: Text Style II" for my text background and the leaf from the "Harvest Berries" stamp set.

The card below is the card that Nichole created.

I took her inspiration of inking, the text background and the layering of elements on her card to make my card.

It is hard to tell but I added some Spectrum Clear Marker over the leaf to give it some sparkle. Purple is so difficult for me to photograph at night!!

For my second card, I used Michele Leon's card  as my inspiration. She used a 2008 set "Floral Frenzy" as her inspiration for a fabulous graphic card.

I did not own this set either so I improvised with using "Heart 2 Heart #12" stamp to make some circles.

This stamp was a bit smaller then Michelle's but I thought it would be perfect. Instead of a scalloped frame, I paired it with PTI's "Pretty Frame Die."

The sentiment was from "Tag It #11." Excuse the fuzz on this photo. I will never stamp another card wearing a black cashmere sweater!! It gets everywhere!!

I have to be honest, neither card came out how I wanted it too. However, that is what happens sometimes. I decided to post them anyway.

Well that is all from me today. I think you for stopping by!!

Valentine's Cards for CASE this Sketch #208, The Card Concept and MFT's Sketch #319

Happy Saturday!! I hope you had a great day!!

Fighting a bit of a headache today. My sister and I went to see "Lion" today at the movie theatre. It was a wonderful movie but I literally cried through the whole thing. Fabulous performances by Nicole Kidman and Dev Patel but definitely not a "feel good" movie. My face was ugly cry swollen by the end of the film.

Despite my headache, I wanted to post two Valentine cards that I created yesterday. Both were inspired by two different sketch challenges. I have been kind of obsessed with sketches as of late. I find that I like that I can use my own supplies but have fun confining them to the parameters of the sketch.

My first card that I created was using CASE this Sketch #208 as my inspiration. I used my new Sunny Studios "That Sucks" stamp as my focal point for this project.

Here is the sketch that I used as the basic design:

I started off my card by doing an ombre effect using Ranger Distress Inks. I then misted it with water, blotting it off to get the mottled effect. I also did a little bit of ink splattering with some white Distress Spray but it is hard to see as most of it is covered with the stamped image.

Next I stamped my sentiment in black and mounted it onto gray card stock. I adhered it to the middle of a white, A2, top folding card.

I added the black sentiment strip that I heat embossed in white with foam adhesive. I then adhered adorable vacuum that I colored with Copic markers above the sentiment strip. (I actually looked up vacuums to get the color "right" and could have used anything from orange/gray to blue/gray as a color scheme. However, the red and gray was perfect because I knew I was making it into a Valentine.) I used a Clear Spectrum Sparkle Marker on the red bag of the vacuum, as well as some glossy accents on the handle.

I die cut some red hearts using Simon Says Stamps "Tiny Hearts" die and used foam adhesive to adhere them to the card. Once again I added a bit of sparkle to the card using the Spectrum clear marker and then covered them with Glossy Accents to make them shine. I ADORE how this card came out!

For my next card, I was inspired by The Card Concept Challenge #66-"Love and Romance", as well as this weeks sketch from My Favorite Things.

I knew that I wanted to keep a lot of white space on my card to showcase the adorable hedgehog from My Favorite Things "Happy Hedgehog" collection.

Here is the sketch and the photo that were my inspiration.

I started off this whole card by embossing with a retired MFT Cover-up die on white paper. I then die cut the panel and adhered it to a white, A2, top folding card.

I used foam adhesive to adhere the heart and doubled the foam adhesive up to adhere the sentiment.

I used a bit of pink floss underneath the die cut hearts and added Glossy Accents over the hearts for some shine.

Really happy with the way both these cards came out. I only wish I did not wait until the last minute to make them!! When will I learn?

I hope you have a great night!!
