Some CAS-ual Friday Stamps Inspiration with the new "Be" Stamp Set

Happy Hump day!! One day closer to the weekend. I know it is bad to wish your life away but we have been so busy during the week that I do enjoy the weekends.

Today I have a card that I created with CAS-ual Fridays Stamps new "Be" stamp set, "Linked" Fri-dies and some ink smooshing.

I started off by using Distress ink in "Twisted Citron," "Cracked Pistachio," and "Peeled Paint" to do a little ink smooshing on a 4" by 5 1/4" piece of white card stock. I did each color separately, letting each layer of ink dry naturally before application of the next color. I think you get a better effect when you do this.

While the last layer of ink was drying, I used CAS-ual Fridays "Linked" Fri-dies to die cut three borders out of card stock scraps that were similar to the ink colors. I adhered the borders to the front of the dried card front, snipping of the pieces that were hanging off the edge.

Next I stamped the sentiment from the CAS-ua Fridays "Be" stamp set (one of my new favorite sentiment stamp sets!!) in "Granite" ink, just below the die cut borders. I adhered the decorated panel to a coordinating green, top folding, A2 sized card base.

What would a card be without a little sparkle? My last step was to adhere clear sequins in different sizes onto the card front. I used a bit of "Diamond" Stickles in the middle of each for some additional shine.

I adore how this card came out and like that this particular sentiment is center stage. Who doesn't want to be badass every day?

If you want the stamps or dies you see on my card, be sure to use my code nora2016 to get 15% off your shopping spree at the CAS-ual Friday Stamps Store.

Inspired by All the Little Things Challenge #29

Happy Sunday!! I wanted to get this post out yesterday but never got back to the computer. Had a great day doing laundry and spending time in my craft room making cards while it was dreary and wet. No better way to spend a rainy day!!

I made a card for the Inspired by All the Little Things Challenge #29.

I was inspired by the pretty fall colors of the leaves in the challenge photo.

I started off by stamping the leaves from the Simon Says Stamp "One With Nature" stamp set and colored them in using Copic Markers and "Clear" Wink of Stella. I then die cut them with the coordinating dies.

I put the leaves aside and stamped a background on white card stock with PaperTrey Ink's "Ombre Builders" stamp set in ink colors chosen from the leaves I colored. I die cut the panel with a My Favorite Things "Inside Out Stitched Rounded Square Stax" and stamped a sentiment in brown ink from the "One With Nature" set.

I mounted the stamped background onto a "Pure Poppy" top folding A2 card that I had created. I then adhered the leaves on, popping the small yellow one up with some foam adhesive.

My last step was to adhere some green sequins around the leaves and add a dollop of Stickles over the sequins.

I really like how this came out. I had never used either of these stamps before so it felt good to pull them out.

I thank you for stopping by!! Have a great night!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps October Release-"Powerful Words"

Happy Hump Day everyone!! I hope everyone is having a fabulous week. The leaves have changed to some brilliant colors and I have been enjoying the lovely fall days.

Today is another new stamp set release from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. This set is called "Powerful Words" and contains some FABULOUS brush sentiments. It is available now in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Shop.

I created a very simple card using ink blending, the "believe" sentiment from "Powerful Words" and a butterfly from the "Be" stamp set released yesterday.

I started off this card with a white panel measuring 4" by 5 1/4." I made a mask by die cutting a circle onto a piece of copy paper and centering it over the white card stock. I used Distress ink in three different yellow colors to ink blend the yellow background.

I then stamped the sentiment and the butterfly in black. I covered both with Clear Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents

When the Glossy Accents dried, I layered the panel over a yellow A2 card stock background. I finished off the card with a trio of clear sequins.

I cannot wait to use these sentiments for some other cards. They are so beautiful!!!

Since the beautiful stamps are available today, there is not better time to shop!! If you use my code nora2016, you get a 15% discount off your order!!

CAS-ual Fridays October Release-"Be"

Happy Tuesday!! I hope you are all having a nice start to the week.

Today is another new stamp debut from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. The new stamp set is called "Be."

I particularly LOVE this new stamp set because it contains butterflies. Butterflies remind me of my mother, who passed away 24 years ago, the anniversary of her death being just last week on October 12th.

This time of year is always difficult for me because the two weeks before October 12th, I relive the moments up to her death in my mind. I was 23 when I lost her from ocular cancer that had metastasized to her liver after five years of clean scans. I was blessed in that I took care of her the last few weeks so that my father could go to work. As I get older, I seem to miss her more and more. She got me through some really tough times before she was diagnosed again with cancer and without her support, I would not be here today.

The card I created is dedicated to my mother. I chose the sentiment because my mother helped me realize the inner strength I had in myself.

I stamped the butterflies in different sizes and colors. I used gel inks to make polka dots in different colors on several of them.

I chose to make the card very simple. I mounted my stamped panel using foam adhesive over an A2 card base that I had covered with green striped paper.

I then adhered clear sequins randomly over the butterfly panel and topped with some Stickles.

I think I will be making a set of these cards so that I have them to give away when I think someone needs a pick me up. I know my mother would approve!!

This stamp set is available in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamp Shop today. If you used my code nora2016, you can get a 15% discount on your shopping order!!!

Be sure to check back tomorrow as another new stamp set will be release. Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps October Calling All Sistah's Blog Hop and a New CAS-ual Fridays Stamp set

Happy Monday!! It is October 17th so that means another CAS-ual Fridays Calling All Sistah's Blog Hop! These hops are a reminder to all women to check their breasts monthly, as well as to remember to schedule their yearly mammogram.

You should have come here from Lydia's blog. If you get lost anytime, please go back to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamp blog where the master list is. I also have the complete list of blog hop participants and links to their blogs below.

This month the design team is debuting a new CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "Calling All Sistah's" stamp set "Word Ribbon." This stamp set is available in the CAS-ual Fridays Shop today.

The theme this month was to encourage someone. I created a very simple card using three stamps from the new set.

I started off this card by stamping a row of pink ribbons. I was so excited to see this small ribbon stamp in the stamp set as I can see me using these in different ways on cards. I then used a masking technique and stamped the sentiment with two separate word stamps in black ink.

I used some Glossy Accents over the black words to give them some emphasis.

When the panel was dry, I used foam adhesive to layer it over some pink striped paper and a strip of black glitter that was on an A2 top folding card.

My last step was to adhere some pink sequins and top them off with a bit of "Diamond" Stickles. Really simple but I am loving how this came out.

Want to join our blog hop next month? Please join our Calling All Sistah's Facebook Group for more information. All you need to do is use at least one CAS-ual Fridays Stamps product on your card to participate.

Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #20

It is the 15th of the month and it is time for another Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge.

I had fun creating my card with some products I have never used before.

I decided to use the bottom row across-use punssweets and smooshing technique.

I have had these stamps and dies from My Favorite Things for months and just broke them out to make this card. Soda is considered sweet, right?

I started out by creating the paper I used for the die cut bottles with the smooshing technique. I used "Squeezed Lemonade," "Scattered Straw," "Dried Marigold," and "Mustard Seed" Distress ink with some water and a bit of Speedball gold. I let it dry and die cut six bottles using MFT's "Soda Pop" dies, using two for this card.

I then stamped and die cut the star and the orange from the matching "Soda Pop" stamp set. I added them over some wraps I made from card stock.

I added the bottles over a background that I blended "Tumbled Glass" and "Peacock Feathers" Distress ink over and die cut "Blueprints #27." The pun sentiment was stamped using a stamp also from the "Soda Pop" stamp.

To finish the card off, I adhered some orange and clear sequins onto the card, adding a bit of Stickles over the top.

I LOVE how this came out and I am gong to make a few more with some different colors but that will be for another day!

Birthday Inspiration with CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

Hello everybody. Happy Saturday!! Oh boy do I love the weekend!

Today it is my turn for inspiration on the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog. This month CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog is going pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is also CAS-ual Fridays birthday. In honor of this birthday, I created a birthday card.

I started off this card by using the largest die from the "Tag Buddies" Fri-dies to die cut a white tag. I then misted the tag with green and pink mist spray. I stamped borders from "Holly Jolly Borders" in black and colored them in with Copic Markers. After the borders were dry, I adhered them to the tag.

I then used foam adhesive to adhere black strips on the tag that I had stamped with CAS-ual Fridays "Shenanigans" set and embossed in white.

I set this aside decided to try to ink blend on a piece of colored card stock with two different pink Distress Inks. It was not as easy to do as on a piece of white Bristol but it was kind of fun to try.

I used foam behind the tag when I adhered it to the card. I then sprinkled silver stars that I had cut with the "Fun-Fetti" Fri-dies. My last step was to adhere sequins in pink around the stars, adding some Stickles over the top.

Well that is all from me today. Thank you so much for stopping by and remember to use my code for some shopping fun at the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps store. Have a wonderful day!!

SJ Card Blog for September 2016

Hi everyone!! Today I am showcasing the cards that I created for the SJ Card Blog for September. I meant to have it up the other day but just didn't have time. It was my turn for the kit and I chose a birthday theme.

I created eleven cards, one being the card I created for my Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #19 post. Let me tell you, I have plenty left to make a ton more cards but I got sick of making birthday cards and needed a break.

So without further ado, here are my cards!!

I really attempted to only use the kit on my cards. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it did not!! For this card, I did add some Distress Ink Spray behind the flowers but everything else, minus the white card base, came in the kit.

This was the first card I created. I die cut numbers using old Quickutz dies. The sentiment is from CAS-ual Fridays "Shenanigans" set-one of my FAVORITES!!

For this card I added some iridescent sequins and some Glossy Accents over the glasses to make them more realistic. I also added the white card stock background and inked all of it up.

On this card, I inked the background with Distress Ink in "Wild Violet" and accented it with some Hero Arts "Lavender" ink. The sequins were not part of the kit or the vellum I used behind the green die cut. Ultimate fail on this card for using the kit but sometimes that is where the creativity takes you!

I colored in my pig with Copic Markers and added a hat that I cut out of one of the pieces of patterned paper. I really wanted to add sparkle to the hat but I DID NOT have any Stickles in the green color to match!! Instead, I used Glossy Accents to make the pattern on the hat stick out.

For this card, I just added some red Stickles for sprinkles to the stamped tag.

This card was my favorite from the bunch. I just LOVE how this cake turned out!!

Well, that is all. I urge you to hop on over to the SJ Card Kit Blog to see what my other team mates did with their kits!!

Thanks for stopping by!!
