Winnie and Walter One Layer Challenge Day 4

Happy Sunday!! I hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend. This week I went back to work and my goodness am I tired. Charlotte started high school and is in the same school as me this year. She had a great first three days and seems to like her teachers. Thank goodness.

Today I am going to share a card that I created for a challenge at the Winnie and Walter August Release Blog. It was in conjunction with Simon Says Stamp to make a one layer card.

To be honest, I am not a one layer card girl. I always wind up messing up, even when I plan it all out and do a mock up, which I did with this card. As usually, I then try to go adding things and comes out totally different!!

I used two stamp sets on this-"Big Bang Bling" from Winnie and Walter and "Talk Bubbles 2" from Simon Says Stamp.

To begin, I stamped a middle area of shapes with PTI Tropical Teal Ink onto Teal card stock. I started with the rectangle stamp, followed by the "Hi", then stamped sequins etc. I then added all the other elements from there.

I might of gotten a little carried away but I kind of like it. I think if I created it again, I would stamp in a few different colors on white. However, my own internal challenge was to use the teal and add some gold accents. I am trying to think outside my comfort zone.

I thank you for stopping by. I hope the rest of your day is fabulous!!

Finally Friday and Card #5 from "The Mess on my Desk"

Hello!! The weekend is finally here. Whoot, Whoot!! Ok, I shouldn't be celebrating after only starting back to work on Tuesday but I am. I would rather be home having fun in my craft room!

Today is just a quick post with yet another card I created using what was on my desk. It is EXTREMELY simple and literally took 10 minutes to complete.

You cannot tell from the lighting in this photo but the whites really do match!! The die cut lion and sentiment are from Paper Trey Ink's "Sweet Baby" set.

The little banners were cut from scraps of red paper.  I will admit that this is not my most creative card but it works for what I wanted to do. It was the last card I created out of six so I was losing steam.

I want to thank you for stopping by this week to view all of my creations. Have a fabulous weekend and tune into next week for some more cards created from the mess on my desk!!

The "Mess on my Desk" card #4

Hello everyone!! I hope everyone is having a fabulous week. It is almost time for a three day weekend and I cannot wait. I know, I know, I just started back to work but I am already tired!!

I used My Favorite Things set "Sweetheart Birdie Brown" to create this card.

I had die cut, stamped both the bird and Birdie, as well as colored each in using Copic marker's months ago. I did try to do a pleat technique on Birdie's dress but it was an epic fail. I just wound up making it blue. I did do a little cross hatching on her hat to make it look like straw. That part wasn't a failure!!

The first thing I did was trim a piece of patterned paper into a 4 1/4" by 5 1/2" rectangle. I inked the edges with Vintage Photo ink and adhered it to a white card base. Next I die cut and adhered a piece of yellow card stock over the pattered paper. I then die cut a fence out of a scrap of kraft card stock and adhered it to the middle of the yellow card stock.

Birdie and the bird where then adhered using foam adhesive. The sun was created by using a vellum flower with a die cut sentiment circle over it. Both were in my pile of stuff. The last touch was to use my clear Wink of Stella pen to put a little shine on the bird and into the middle of the sun flower.

After planning this card, it took me all of 15 minutes to put together. That includes the die cutting of the fence and card stock paper. It usually takes me two hours to make a card so I am happy!!

Thank you for stopping by. I really appreciate it. Have a great night!!
